Press Release
Katsina State Executive Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has disclosed that plans are underway to establish Community Development Committees in all the state's 34 local governments areas. The goal of this initiative is to promote community-driven development by giving residents a say in determining the priorities and projects that will benefit them most.
Governor Radda made this known during a meeting with the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, who led a delegation to welcome him back from a one-month annual leave and a five-day official trip to China.
Similarly, to ensure that government policies align with the needs and aspirations of the people, the Katsina Governor will be hosting town hall meetings in all three senatorial zones of the state. These meetings will provide a platform for relevant stakeholders, including state and federal legislators and members of the opposition party, to share their views and advice.
While emphasising on the importance of community involvement, Governor Radda urged all elected officials to engage with religious leaders to pray for the restoration of peace in the state. He also encouraged them to adopt a more modest lifestyle and remain closer to their constituents, particularly during these challenging economic times.
Earlier, while welcoming the Governor, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Nasiru Yahya Daura, commended the deputy governor's leadership during the recent nationwide protests. He also acknowledged the security challenges facing the state and pledged the House's continued support in addressing these issues.
